Granada and La Alhambra
The city of myths and legends, Granada is famed for the stunning Alhambra, regarded as the Eighth Wonder of the World. The historical capital of Al- Andalus, the 700-year period when the Moors ruled most of Spain, the Arabic influence pervades through the town.
Famed for its fascinating Moorish old quarter, the labyrinthine Albaicin with its secluded inner gardens, Granada is also the spiritual home for Andalucía’s gypsies, and traditional flamenco shows still take place in the Sacromonte quarter. Granada is, of course, best known for the Alhambra Palace.
One of the most historical and significant monuments in Spain, the Alhambra is a superb example of Moorish architecture known as the Mudejar style. Set against the background of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the fairy tale setting contains a host of gardens, fountains and patios, as well as the Nasarin palaces and the refurbished Fuente de los Leones.
It’s little wonder that the Alhambra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an unforgetable experience that is not to be missed!

Ronda Day Trip
Less than an hour from Marbella and perfect as a day trip, Ronda is a picturesque town filled with history. Instantly recognisable by the bridge that spans the spectacular El Tajo Gorge with the Río Guadalevín running far below, Ronda’s fascinating history is filled with bandits, bullfighters and breathtaking beauties.
Hemmingway drank with matadors in the bar across from the bullring – Spain’s oldest - and Moorish Kings constructed Arabic palaces and gardens. History comes alive in hidden corners and secluded streets and, if all that exploring has left you thirsty and worked up an appetite, there are plenty of authentic tapas bars and superb restaurants for you to enjoy!

Seville Andalucia’s Capital
Andalucia’s capital, beautiful Seville, has been a hugely important and influential city for thousands of years. From the Romans to the Moors, the Christian reconquest to the present day various civilizations have been instrumental in its growth and have left the city with a unique personality. Although it has a strong medieval, renaissance and baroque heritage. The greatest influence is its Arabic culture, most evident in Seville’s large and well-preserved historical centre.
Situated on the river Guadalquivir, southern Spain’s largest city has been immortalized in poetry, literature and music as the home to Carmen, Don Juan and Figaro. It was also a city of wealth and power during Spain’s Golden Age, as goods and riches flooded back from the New World.
Seville has a host of hidden gems just waiting to be discovered. Flowering patios hide behind ornate gates and decorated facades throughout the old city. Its winding streets and atmospheric bars make it the perfect place for an authentic tapas tour in Santa Cruz and Plaza Alfalfa. Make sure to climb the Giralda tower for a spectacular overview of the city and stroll the gardens of the 14th-century Alcazar palace – most recently used as a setting in “Game of Thrones” and across the bridge to lively Triana, famed for its colourful Gitano culture!

Córdoba - World Famous
World famous for its stunning Mezquita, Córdoba was capital of Islamic Spain and western Europe´s biggest, most cultured city with 250,000 inhabitants at the height of its powers. Under Islamic rule, Cordoba was the capital of a mighty caliphate and its influence can still be found today. But it’s not all about the Moors. Córdoba has been a melting pot for the major religions and civilizations for thousands of years.
After the reconquest the Christians turned the Mezquita into a cathedral, while the strong Jewish heritage can be found in the winding, stone-paved lanes to the west of the Mezquita. The historic quarter of Córdoba is a beautiful network of small streets, alleys, squares and whitewashed courtyards arranged around the Mezquita, which reflects the city´s prominent place in the Islamic world during medieval times.
One of the greatest pleasures of Córdoba is wandering between wrought-iron balconies and lamps, potted plants, overhanging trees, golden-stone buildings and verdant interior patios, emerging every few minutes on yet another quaint little hidden plaza, while a walk across the Roman Bridge over the Guadalquivir river gives you the perfect photo opportunity with the spectacular city skyline behind you.
